a “National Umbrella Body” offering you the most economical
route in which to comply with the new legislation. We are
an “Umbrella Body” for the purposes of Criminal
Records Checks for all levels of staff.
How it works
You
will need to nominate a person or persons to be our main contact
and signature. We will email that person all of the information
they need to register with us, including sample policies and a
copy of our contract. On receipt of your signed contract we will
forward as many Disclosure Application Forms to you as you think
you will need.We then check and process your completed
Disclosure Application Forms before sending them to the Criminal
Records Bureau to be processed.
On
receipt of the Disclosure Certificate from the CRB we will
forward this directly back to you.

Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA)
Employers and volunteer organisations - From October
2009/ and starting July 2010
We are a agent for the CRB so we will be able to
carry out ISA registration for you.
Employers and volunteer organisations who deal
with children and vulnerable adults always need to check
a person’s ISA status before employing them. You
cannot take their word for it and neither can you have
them in post – even supervised – before you know the
outcome of the check.
As soon as the ISA is live,
when you recruit someone new to work with
children or vulnerable adults you will need to
check their ISA status. This will determine whether or
not you can employ them (or take them on as volunteers),
and may affect what activities they can undertake.
